Yoga descends from an ancient era, long before (wo)man could even read or write.

It is a gift which once learned, can help you through the different stages of your life.

What can I expect from Kay's yoga class?

A deeply relaxing yet invigorating experience which soothes the body, mind and spirit.

What does she teach?

Kay teaching postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama) and meditation (dhyana).

She also incorporates eye exercises and chanting.

She often refers to philosophical thinking sometimes guided by religious texts including the Ramayana and the Bhagavad Gita.

Kay's favourite topic is the subject of Spirituality.

Which style of yoga does she teach?

A combination of Sivananda, Hatha and Kundalini yoga.

Why does she teach yoga?

For several reasons. Firstly, Kay was born a Hindu Bhramin which means teaching religion and the principles of Sanatana Dharma (which encompasses yoga) is in her blood. Secondly, yoga has helped her recover from injuries, heal emotional trauma and carried her though her darkest times; therefore, she believes it is a 'skill' which everyone should learn, use and benefit from. Thirdly, she believes yoga has the power to help people on a physical, physiological, emotional, educational and spiritual level. Fourthly, because she loves it.

We are alive.

Does this thought ever cross your mind or dawn on you?

What does it mean to be alive? And how can we enjoy our living experience?

Yoga can provide the answer to this. It's very simple -

Firstly, if we can look after our bodies, we can be physically healthy and free from ailments and disease.

Secondly, if we learn to befriend our mind and control it, we can utilise the time we have been given in its best possible way.

Thirdly, if we recognise and begin to understand our Soul, we can find inner peace, contentment and joy.

The Universe is full of energy. So are we. Yoga teaches us how to utilise this energy.
